Warwickshire Weightlifting Club (formerly KBT Weightlifting Club) has been open for over ten years and in that time has produced British champions in all age groups.
The constituted aim of our club is to provide opportunities for everyone to train and compete in weightlifting.
We have three priorities:
- Youth Development – finding talented young people and helping them to compete at the best level they can
- Performance – supporting national and international-level athletes
- Community – enabling everyone to support each other to reach their own goals, whatever level they are at
Our coaches are licensed by British Weight Lifting (BWL) and are fully insured and DBS checked to work with children and vulnerable adults.
Sam has over twenty years of experience in coaching in weightlifting and other sports. He built a successful coach education company that taught thousands of students the right way to do strength and conditioning. In weightlifting, Sam has worked with athletes to support them in winning medals at all levels up to the Commonwealth Games.
Sam is a BWL-licensed level 2 coach.
Our assistant coach and youth coach has been coaching weightlifting for five years. He has supported youth, senior and masters athletes on their paths to winning British Championships or just simply to beating their own previous best. Dan also runs Powerful Ideas Press, a publishing company dedicated to strength sports.
Dan is a BWL-licensed level 2 coach and is also a licensed level 2 technical official.
Warwickshire Weightlifting Club is a non-profit organisation that is governed by a committee elected by its members.
